Every new year comes with big goals, fresh motivation, and that familiar urge to “do it all better.” Last year, I chased a lot of things and felt like things were chasing me. I chased sales numbers and Duncan on our walks. I felt like time, age and busyness were chasing me. This year, instead of chasing something overwhelming, I’m choosing something simple, intentional, and sustainable.
My New Year’s goal is to write one newsletter and one blog post every month.
Not twelve perfect ones. Not viral content. Just one honest piece of writing each month for both.
I have never been a consistent person and this business is probably the only consistent thing in my life. Grace Girl Beads is truly the only thing in my life that is just mine. While I don't consider myself a writer, I do love the story-telling aspect of it and love sharing stories with y'all.
This year, I want to change that.
Committing to one post a month feels doable, but more importantly, it feels meaningful. It’s an invitation to pause and reflect — on business, creativity, faith, growth, and the everyday moments that shape this journey. Some posts may be practical. Some may be personal. Some may simply be a snapshot of what I’m learning in real time. The stories won't always be about jewelry, Duncan and my boys give me plenty of material to write about.
I’m not setting expectations for perfection or length or performance. The goal isn’t pressure — it’s presence. Showing up, sharing honestly, and letting the process matter more than the outcome.
If you’re reading this, consider it both a promise and an open door. I hope these monthly posts feel encouraging, relatable, and maybe even a little grounding. And if nothing else, I hope they remind you that small, consistent steps can create something beautiful over time.
Here’s to writing more, overthinking less, and keeping commitments that actually fit the season we’re in.
See you next month 🤍
